Four Things//Day Three

Four beliefs/opinions
1) I believe that no matter what kind of family you come from, you should never forget your roots. My upbringing was strict and we didn't have a lot of money. But we were happy. I had my FAIR share of hand-me-downs, haircuts from my mom, and really lame toys! I used to throw my basketball over a tree limb since we couldn't afford a goal! (It was pretty fun though...)  I thought I was as rich as anyone else and mostly because of my wonderful family.

2) I believe that everyone goes through tough times but that it should turn you into a rude person. I am not trying to make light of anyone's situations, but everybody goes through hard times. Sometimes it feels like what you are going through is harder than what the average person goes through, but it should not give you the freedom to become a jerk. I know a lot of people that are mean, and they say it's because something bad happened to them. Everybody deals with pain and suffering sometimes in life, but we should not take it out on everybody else.

3) I believe that people should wait to have children until they are financially ready. I don't think I'm going to say anything else about this subject.

4) I believe that God still shows us signs of His presence, but most of them are overlooked because of the constant stream of negativity that the media plagues our nation with.

4 lovely notes:

Unfortunately babies don't always wait until we are perfectly ready. :)

I agree with these! Especially #2 and #4!

You make a good point with #3. Working at a grocery store, I ring up people who are on programs such as WIC (one where women with children get certain foods for free). There are MANY nice, well-educated people who are on it because they simply fell on hard times. But there are also some girls who just seem dumb. They can't read a piece of paper and understand that they are allowed to get beans, not rice - how are they going to be responsible for a child's life?

I also agree that tough times should not make us rude.

And #4 is perfect.
