There are a LOT of things I could do with $400,000. I would want to do some charity work with some of it, donate some to research for Alzheimer's disease and send some money to my sponsored friend and her family in Mexico. But there are a few other selfish things I'd want to use it for, so here they are:
1) Pay back my parents. They have spent so much money on me. I'd love to be able to pay at least some of it back, for my college tuition and the money they spent on my first car.
2) Buy an old house.

3) Travel the world. Just see the world. The fifty states first and then outwards. I have a list of places I want to see, I can't even imagine having that much money to do whatever I wanted. I'd go everywhere!
4) Shopping spree! I could buy a TON of clothes with just $400. Sooo, it'd be pretty amazing to just have that much spending money. Lately I've been pinching pennies, I can't remember the last time I had a legit clothes shopping spree.
9 lovely notes:
I would like a house out in the country, too! I would prefer a smaller, older house with a few acres of land.
I would pretty much do all of the things you said too! That house is incredibly gorgeous, oh my gosh. It's like better than a dream! I love it. I'd be happy to just camp out in the garden. hahaha!
P.S. I LOVE your new blog layout! I am crazy about the flowers in the background, ack!
i'd do pretty much the same with you with all those money. let's move to that house please.
I hear ya on the traveling!
I'd do these things too, right after paying back those student loans! Ugh.
That house is breathtakingly dreamy. Can we please move there? I want to take a turn about those gardens in the misty morning sunlight! :)
I desperately want an old beautiful home as well. We just moved into a house this summer, but it doesn't have nearly the character I want. That picture is a dream!
such a great list...and that old home you pictured...love it! It has so much character!
That house looks amazing!
I'd pay off our house and be a professional student :)
