2013 so far.

How is 2013 treating everyone so far? It has been rather unkind to me. I've been sick every day since it started, and today is no different. Just cough/cold stuff, but still, rather miserable. This has been the most unsuccessful first week of any year for me so far. Usually, I usher in the new year full of goals and all sorts of plans to conquer these goals. But this year, I've spent every day on the couch, with kleenex, a glass of cranapple, and the never ending supply of Netflix instant play. I have watched SO much Heroes in the last week that I seriously can't remember what reality is. I feel like I should be developing my own special ability. Perhaps my ability is not being able to face the sun without exploding. That would explain why when I look outside, it feels like my eyes are going to burn out of my skull. Or maybe that's just what happens when you've been watching TV for 14 hours straight? Seriously.

I did do one thing that I am immensely proud of though. I finished the Bible! I have been wanting to do this for so long, but could never just make myself sit down and read it entirely. But now I have completed it. I really enjoyed the New Testament, especially the writings of Paul. I learned so much about him that I didn't know. Now that I have completed it, I plan to dive in deeper. I received a study Bible for Christmas, and I really want to dig in and just understand it more. Look more into the application of it in our lives today. I am excited for this new approach.

I have drank more water this week too...and only two sodas, so I guess that's good. I hope everyone else is having a fantastic 2013 so far! How are your resolutions going?

Heroes is my favorite show! I wouldn't consider your first week a total waste, lol. Try taking vitamin C & garlic pills. The combination should knock it out quickly, but limit your sugar intake because sugar shuts down your immune system & doesn't allow your body to absorb the vitamins properly. Hope you feel better soon! Also, congrats on finishing the Bible! I've been wanting to do that too.

yay for reading the whole bible, I really need to do that! I didn't make any concrete resolutions so so far, so good! Just trying to have more peace in my life, be intentional in my relationships, and have more quiet time with God.

You should do it! You gain a different perspective when you read it for yourself. :)

Jessica, I've heard that heroes goes downhill after season 1, should I keep watching?? I don't want to ruin it for myself, because gosh...it was great! Thanks for the advice, I will definitely try those! I've been dealing with this for too long. You should certainly finish the Bible! :) It's kind of easy to give up in the old testament, but it is definitely worth it to stick to it! :)

Those are all great things to do, and I need to work on all of them as well. Good luck with them and happy new year to you, Kristin! :)

Thank you!! I am feeling a bit better today. Still just napping around. I always struggled reading my Bible too...It has taken me FOREVER to finish it! But I am so glad that I did. Just start reading it a little at a time. Don't beat yourself up if you get behind, just keep on. :) The old testament is kind of easy to get lost, but it does get better. I definitely recommend reading it!

Everyone and their MOM is sick right now, including myself. This is apparently one of the worst cold/flu seasons EVER.
Also i laughed out loud for real with the hero's comment/eyes burning. That is how i feel! I've been watching so much frasier i think i'm some middle aged wine sipping man who likes to discuss peoples problems ha.
YAY for finishing the Bible!! That is awesome!! What Bible Study did you get?

EEk i also realized when i went to reply to your comment via email that you're a 'no-reply blogger' meaning when you comment on someones blog they can't reply via email..womp womp.
Go here, http://kaybellaa.blogspot.com/2012/04/blogging-101-no-reply-bloggers.html and she explains everything. Let me know when it works by commenting on mine and then I will email ya back and voila!!

Doing well on my resolutions so far!

We started off the new year with the flu...and it was awful.

Thanks, Niken!! Oh no...I hope you are feeling much better now!

Hahahaha. I SOO love your comment regarding Frasier...I had to share with my family, we all love watching Frasier together! It's one of my favorite shows! :) It totally is one of the worst flu seasons ever. I work in a physician's office and we have seen so many cases of it, every single day!! I sure hope you are feeling better!!

I got this Bible study for single women, called "Lady in Waiting". I also got the Holman Christian Study Bible for Christmas, which just has some devotions in there about applying the scriptures to our lives. I LOVE devotional books though, if you have any good recommendations??

I tried to fix the comment by e-mail thing, I hope it worked. Thanks for the heads up! :)

Congrats for finishing the Bible! I think I'd never read it, it's so long :/ but interesting, I guess
I never have good mood, when the New Year beggins, because it means the end of the first semester in school and that is really grueling :/
PS: please, excuse some mistakes in my english :D :-)
